Note: Your wireless coverage may vary depending on the receiving power of your wireless adapter. Result analysis is conducted by an independent study group. This includes, but is not limited to, network devices, network setup, building and surrounding materials.
How to figure out which version you have: On the backside of the product there is a label that will determine which version you have. Click on the to see an image. To download a file, select the icon next to the select file. Wireless traffic is bidirectinoal. Signals must be sent and received. You are limited by the weakest wireless adapter on the network. For example, if one wireless device has a range of feet but the other device only has a range of feet, the maximum range would be feet.
Antennas also have a cone of transmission. For example, if an antenna only has a 15 degree angle of transmission, you must make sure your wireless devices are within this cone of transmission. Otherwise, your wireless device might not see a signal or see any improvement. What kind of antenna adapters do you support? Our indoor antennas use the SMA antenna ports. This results in a significantly increased in wireless distance. When paired with another Hi-Gain 14dBi antenna, you may extend your distance by up to 2 miles.
Pros: I have used many of these outdoors to give wifi access to a business park that consists of many large metal buildings that a wifi signal cant penetrate. The connectors that come with this are also perfect for hooking up to APs that use rp tnc connections like linksys. Pros: I have had a few of these mounted and working for over 4 years. The perform flawlessly, and while slightly discolored, have withstood at least two hurricanes, and feet of snow.
Pros: I am really impressed with my results using this antenna. Worked even better than I expected with good signal strength through walls and wood and around an obstructing house. Overall Review: I have a customer who wanted to extend his wireless network from his house to a barn on his property, a little less than yards away.
The main router in the house is an older Belkin model that sits inside a solid wood cabinet about 15ft away from the window. Between the window and the barn is another small house that just barely blocks line-of-site by inches.
Trees were between the house and building. With one antenna sending the signal we could not detect a signal. Easy to install. Cons: The system works, but it will probably not send a signal as far as advertised. With the single directional antenna sending and a laptop outside, I could detect an adequate signal about ft. Pros: this antenna is awesome have it hooked up to a buffalo router and it rocks excellent range easy to install.
Pros: Used to create a wireless bridge to my grandmothers's house. One of these on each end, pointed toward each other, connected to standard, off the shelf routers. Distance is about feet going through 2 houses. To save the cost and hassle of an outdoor installation, I made some wood brackets to hold the antennas and put them next to the routers indoors. We only lost connectivity once and that was during a very severe lightning storm.
In the setup listed above, if one the antennas gets degrees off plane, signal strength drops dramtically. Cons: Price maybe. Bit of overkill but it works. Color I guess it could get dirty. I am running the building phone system IP Phones as well as internet and surveillance video over the connection. Cons: Short cable - pretty much requires you to buy an extended cable which was not easy to find.
