Did you get it to remove what it found? Try running it again in safe mode. To enter safe mode, reboot the computer, and start tapping the f8 key as soon as the boot commences. In a short while you should hear a short tone with each key press. A half a minute or so later, an options screen will appear. Select "safe mode". You may need to uninstall MBAM and reinstall it while in safe mode. I think this can be done.
Download DrWeb cureit with your other computer to a flash drive. It would also pay to download Flash Disinfector to that computer, follow the directions on that site, especially in regard to the flash drive DrWeb is on, because you will be plugging that drive into an infected computer. Anyway, once DrWeb is on the flash drive, and it has been "immunized" with the disinfector - which should prevent an autorun entry transferring to it - plug it into the sick computer, and attempt to run the Cureit application directly from the flash drive.
This one needs no installing. If no luck, copy the application to the desktop, remove the flash drive safely remove hardware icon,first and see if it will run from the desktop. Hope this helps. I have been using the Avasti free download for the past couple of years, no problems. I received a notification about an upgrade to a Professional level. I decided to do so. Silly me! However, after the screen said installation was complete, something called Spyware Doctor appeared. I did what it said, and was then presented with a request for Realizing this was something completely different, I exited out. However, I never received any instruction from Avasti to restart my computer and put in my license number for the upgrade, although they did send me the number.
Any and all attempts via email or phone to contact them came to a dead end. As far as I can see, I've paid If anyone out there has any suggestions, I'd be grateful.
