Missing File and Tools Menus in Word Thread starter Mark Start date Jul 13, Is the Options menu still under Tools or is it somewhere else in Work ? Thanks, Mark.
Stefan Blom. You cannot go back to the Word interface in Word , if that is what you are asking. In Word , you open the File menu equivalent by clicking the Office button on the top left of your Word window. You will see a Word Options button which you can click to display the new Options dialog box.
Pesach Shelnitz. Hi Mark, In addition to what Stefan wrote, there are some ways to make the transition to Word a little smoother. For one thing, you should know that any sequence of keys that you pressed to open something from a Word menu still works in Word You can still press Alt with the letter that opened one of the Word menus followed by the appropriate letter for one of the menu items to activate that menu item.
If you remember such sequences, you can still use them. Also, the key combinations that performed tasks in Word still work in Word Using key combinations always had the advantage that they freed you from reaching for your mouse and from looking through menus and now the ribbon.
There is a lot of information on the Web to help you with this transition. These are just two that I found helpful. There are many more. Good points. Post reply.
